As part of its road rehabilitation program, the City of Vitry-le-François has implemented a project to renovate public spaces in the Port Arthur district since 2023. This project is part of a global approach to reducing mineralized public spaces and an increase in vegetated surfaces allowing the in situ infiltration of rainwater. Following additional inspections on the sanitation networks, a reflection is carried out in consultation with the Community of Communes Vitry, Champagne and Der (responsible for water and sanitation skills) in order to determine the necessity and advisability of taking over the wet networks in the sectors affected by road works. This consultation has made it possible to highlight several malfunctions in the sanitation and drinking water distribution networks requiring the launching of a rehabilitation and compliance program for the wet networks in the Port Arthur district
