The Department of Gard is launching a restoration program for the Bez viaduct in order to deal with the significant damage affecting the masonry of the structure (disintegration of the stone, cracking, water infiltration) and to stop their observed evolution. The work mainly consists of purging unstable areas, stabilizing and sewing up the masonry, partially reconstituting the facings and sustainably reinforcing the supports and bands by sprayed concrete. Injections, repointing, stone treatment and improvement of water flow are also planned in order to restore the overall functioning of the structure.
