Rehabilitation aeration nitrification filters
Nitrification is carried out by nitrifying bacteria that use air and live in small leca balls in the pool. At the bottom of the pool, there are 4, 200 nozzles that distribute process water and 4, 400 oxazur nozzles that blow air through the water/lecacules. For effective nitrification, it is important that the oxazur nozzles are open and intact and that the pipes supplying air to the oxazur nozzles are in good condition. Veas has 8 process lines for water treatment with 4 nitrification filters per line, 32 in total. There is a need for 20 of the NIT filters to be inspected and rehabilitated. See Appendix 1 for a detailed description.
