Description : Country Arts SA is responsible for the management and maintenance of its four (4) South Australian Regional Arts Centres and for ensuring the facilities are up to industry standard. The theatrical lighting equipment in the Centres no longer meets the needs of contemporary touring companies and as a result the companies are choosing not to hire the Regional Arts Centres, impacting on the Centres' sustainability and leading to lost opportunities for regional communities to experience high quality arts performances that metropolitan communities take for granted.The existing stage lighting at all of Country Arts SA's Regional Arts Centres is nearing 40 years old. Many lamps are now failing and due to the age and models of the hardware, replacement parts are becoming increasingly difficult if not impossible to obtain.In addition, the existing lighting stocks are very inefficient in the use of energy and need to be replaced with energy efficient alternatives.The replacement of 40 year old lighting stock at each of the 4 Regional Arts Centres - Middleback Arts Centre in Whyalla, Northern Festival Centre in Port Pirie, Chaffey Theatre in Renmark and the Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre in Mount Gambier - has been one of the highest priority capital requirements for Country Arts SA for the past 15 years for the following reasons:The stock is very old in industry terms. As such it is becomingextremely difficult to source spare parts (often requiring the venues to sacrifice some lights in order to keep others going)Some stock is now failing earth leakage testing requiring time intensive and expensive repairs.Whilst moving lights have been an industry standard requirement for professional theatres for the past 20 years, Country Arts SA's theatres have none.Country Arts SA is now frequently needing to hire lighting for performances at great cost to hirers, resulting in many hirers bypassing the regional theatres altogether.The energy cost of running the latest technology lighting is a fraction of that required to operate the existing equipment.Moving lights can be programmed from the stage floor, saving considerable time adjusting each lamp using a self-elevating platform. This saves considerable time and labour cost bumping in touring productions.Replacing large sections of lighting stock in one go will have significant benefits in terms of WHS, labour, energy cost savings, technical staff training, attracting more external hirers and providing patrons with greatly enhanced experiences equivalent to that experienced by patrons in city and metropolitan theatres.Having similar kits across all Regional Arts Centres will also increase efficiencies for those touring companies performing at all Country Arts SA venues.Country Arts South Australia (SA) is seeking a qualified and experienced supplier to supply required lighting hardware upgrade to the following Regional Arts Centres:Middleback Arts Centre - WhyallaNorthern Festival Centre - Port PirieChaffey Theatre - Ren
