The Works The Civil and Electrical Bill of Quantities issued as part of this tender package detail all aspects of the project. The main items of project work are as listed below: - 1.Carry out a full Asbestos Refurbishment / Demolition Survey on all NLB operational buildings prior to the commencement of any work. The survey, sample collection and sample analysis must be carried by a UKAS accredited contractor in accordance with ISO 17020, ISO 17025 and Health and Safety Executive Guidance Notes; HSG 248, Asbestos: The analysts- guide for sampling, analysis and clearance procedures” and HSG264, Asbestos: The survey guide. 2.The Principal Contractor is expected to test the existing ‘HCL- fall arrest system and re-certify it, if necessary, before use. The Principal Contractor is to provide the Project Leader with all relevant test certification for record and audit purposes. 3.Establish temporary light. 4.Deliver all plant/materials/camp to NLB Oban packaged for helicopter underslinging. 5.Land plant/materials/camp on site and establish site. 6.Replacement of balcony handrail and metal deck floor in watch room. 7.Upgrade of electrical installation. 8.Upgrade of AtoN and power supply. 9.Full redecoration of the station. 10.Refurbishment of all NLB owned buildings including roof coverings. 11.De-mobilise site and clear all surplus project materials and plant, with the disposal of excess project materials to appropriate licensed and registered dumps.
