Realization of a civil engineering structure for a process installation (CO2 capture plant) at HVC Alkmaar
HVC has set itself the goal of emitting one million tons of CO2 less in 2035 than in 2025. The aim is to achieve this, among other things, by developing a CO2 capture installation at the HVC location in Alkmaar. The aim of this installation is to capture 100 kilotons of CO2 and sell the captured CO2 (CCU). For comparison: this corresponds to the average CO2 emissions from the energy consumption of 30, 816 households. In 2024, HVC concluded a contract with supplier SLB Capturi | after a tender procedure SLB Capturi (SLBC) for the construction of a CO2 capture installation at the HVC location in Alkmaar. Over the past period, HVC has been working with SLBC on a FEED (front-end engineering design). The FEED will be ready in June 2026. Supplier SLBC of the capture installation has excluded the civil works and the Balance of plant from its delivery. These must be provided by HVC itself.
