Description : Advance Contract Award Notice:The University of Calgary intends to purchase Opal-RT Technologies- real-time HIL simulator containing digital and analog input output (I/O) with communication network models simulation ePHASORSIM and EXata-CPS software. This software is essential, enabling the research team to have two critical software in the same platform running in the same real-time simulator. One software performs simulation of microgrids, DER, power grids and other critical infrastructure with ePHASORSIM. The other software performs the simulation of the communication network layer and IP addresses, etc of all protection and intelligent devices on the power grid/critical infrastructure with EXata-CPS. SimPower Systems is used by the research team to model and simulate dynamic systems in off-line. Models are developed to perform Hardware-in the Loop (HIL simulation), real time simulation of this model is necessary to conduct research on the dynamic behaviour study of systems.More details are included in the ACAN document
