The procurement includes a framework agreement regarding the reactivation of existing coal in eight coal filters of 47±5 m³ each. Currently, each filter is reactivated once a year (i.e. a total of eight reactivations per year), however, the frequency may change depending on development of water quality and requirements. See also the procurement document. The customer must also be able to purchase smaller quantities of virgin coal in connection with reactivation (in addition to the coal supplied as make-up) or a slightly larger quantity as a separate delivery for example to replace a larger loss of carbon in the event of a filter failure.
