Tenders are invited for Tender document for Creative Community Development and Public Artwork with the Ballymena community regarding the development of the former St Patrick-s Barracks Site We invite proposals from organizations across NI to tender for the Creative community development programme to be delivered from Jan 2024 to Jan 2026 with the possibility of extension for a further year. This work will be delivered in tandem with the Radius Housing development of the former St Patrick's Barracks Site in Ballymena to bring 135 new ‘Shared Housing- homes to the area. History of the Site The site formed part of the Castle Demesne and estate owned by the Adair family. Ballymena Castle stood to the west of the current site. In 1937 lands were requisitioned by the War Office, with building comprising St Patrick-s Barracks Site being erected in 1939, the first soldiers arrived in 1940. St Patrick-s Barracks closed in 2007. The site was given to the NI Executive in 2012 and scheduled for redevelopment.
