The Air Force Canine Breeding Program, located at the RAAF Security and Fire School (RAAFSFS) RAAF Base Amberley, is responsible for supplying suitable working dogs to supplement initial training courses and the replacement of dogs on operational Units.
RAAFSFS has recently reviewed its canine breeding program and developed a plan aimed at achieving a sustainable canine breeding supply model to support Military Working Dog training outputs until 2023.
To assist it with satisfying its projected supply numbers, RAAFSFS is seeking responses from suppliers of working line Belgian Shepherd Malinois that are able to supply one or more of the following :
- Recruit Dogs
- Brood Bitches
- Breeding Units
In conducting this Invitation to Register (ITR), the Commonwealth is seeking an outcome that will :
a. assess whether the market is capable of fulfilling the requirements;
b. identify potential suppliers capable of fulfilling the requirements;
c. establish if respondents have the technical, managerial or financial capacity to satisfy the requirements; and
d. allow prospective suppliers sufficient time to explore licensing import requirements and establish their subcontractors.
Following this ITR process, the Commonwealth intends to create a shortlist of one or more respondents and either :
a. engage the shortlisted respondent/s in negotiations with the intention of signing a Contract or Deed; or
b. revise the requirement based on the information obtained from the responses and issue a RFT to the shortlisted respondent/s.
