In 2021; Colombia-S Public Employment Service Unit (Pse) and the Federal Employment Agency of Germany Signed an Agreement of Collaboration to Promote the Safe; Orderly; And Regular Recruitment of Colombian Workers for Labor Opportunities in Specific Occupations in Germany. The “Trabajadores Colombianos Especializados Para Alemania; Team Project” Facilitates Safe and Legal Migration Pathways by Protecting Colombian Labor Migrants from Potentially Abusive Labor Conditions but Also Facilitates Their Preparedness for Job Opportunities. The Project Includes German Language Training; Support for Travel; Visa; The Homologation Process; An Economic Stipend during the Language Training Period; And Orientation once the Worker has Arrived in Germany. Thanks to the Project Colombians Apply for Job Offers from German Employers; Are Part of a Selection Process and then Hired for Technical (Electricity; Telecommunications; Agricultural Production; Mechatronics; Carpentry) and Care Jobs (Nurses). In the Most Recent Iteration; 6 German Companies are Looking for Industrial Electrical Technologists to Work in the Automation and Maintenance of Production Facilities; Buildings; Equipment; Or Plants According to the Needs and Sector of each Company. In Colombia; Labor Intermediation for Colombians Willing to Work Abroad Operates through the Employment Agencies Authorized as Transnationals Which are Public and Private Institutions Regulated by the Ministry of Labor and the Pse Unit. Its Main Role is to Select the Appropriate Candidates for International Companies Interested in Hiring Colombian Workers. To Support this Process the Pes Unit will Work with Several Employment Agencies (Previously Authorized by the Government). The Team Project is a Pilot to Expand Their Support to Other Migration Stages; Potentially in Other Countries. Hence; Taking Advantage of the Team Project and with Support from Colombia-S Pse; The Wb Aims to Contract a Firm to Carry out a Qualitative Study about the Perception and Experience of (I) Colombian Labor Migrants; (Ii) International Employers; (Iii) the Colombian Transnational Employment Agencies Participants in the Process; (Iv) the Public Employment Service Unit; And (v) the Federal Employment Agency of Germany when Accessing Colombia-S Labor Migration System. It is Expected that the Study will Contribute to Reducing Existing Knowledge Gaps and Integrating the Voices of Migrants; Employers; And Labor Intermediation Agencies; To Support Evidence-Based Policy and Strengthen Colombia-S Labor Migration-Sending System.
