The World Bank East Asiaand Pacific Gender Innovation Lab (EAPGIL) and Social Development (SD) GlobalPractice are carrying out a study of the care economy in the Philippines, witha focus on childcare and elder care. The study focuses on constraints to supplyof and demand for childcare and elderly care, and opportunities for provisionby the public sector and possibly the private sector. The study will take theform of a qualitative situation analysis of the care economy in the Philippines.The situation analysis will comprise of three core components: (i) demand-sideassessment; (ii) supply-side assessment; and (iii) enabling environment review.
