The Energie Service Biel/Bienne (ESB) is planning to implement photovoltaic (PV) systems on various company premises as well as to develop a service model for PV integration for private households. There is currently no large-scale PV system on the ESB roof. The existing grid infrastructure can be used to feed in renewable energy, but requires precise analysis to check capacity and grid stability. In addition, private households have not yet been directly integrated into ESB's PV offering, meaning that the opportunities for using and marketing their own electricity remain unused. In addition to the technical requirements, economic and organizational aspects play a central role. The ESB is looking for a sustainable and economically viable business model that includes both its own PV system and the integration of private households. However, there is currently no structured service that systematically integrates private households into a PV model.
