The Center for Microscopy and Molecular Imaging (http://www.cmmi.be) plans to purchase a high-performance computing (HPC) cluster specialized for the analysis of high-resolution images via methods based on Machine Learning/de Artificial Intelligence. The ULB IT Departmentmanages the public contract and the installation of this new HPC cluster.
CLUSTER-HPC_ULB_CMMI_2024 - 1
The CMMI (http://www.cmmi.be) wishes to acquire a computing infrastructure specialized in the analysis of high-resolution images. The calculation infrastructure will be installed and managed by the Technolog Centeries from the ULB IT Department. This infrastructure must allow the execution of calculations in the field of Machine Learning and/or Artificial Intelligence with support for the acceleration of calculations through graphics processors. The architecture of this cluster will therefore be composed ofnodes with a maximum of fast cores and graphics cards allowing the acceleration of single-precision calculations (Single-precision Floating Point or FP32). All the nodes will be interconnected via an Ethernet network already in place in the data center. The cluster architecture, implementedmented by the ULB Technologies Center, provides a virtualization layer on the computing nodes, making it possible to offer one or more virtual computing nodes per server.
