The Finnish Defense Forces annually organizes call-ups in accordance with the Conscription Act in the Helsinki area. In 2026, invitations will be organized at Karjalatalo (Käpylänkuja 1 Helsinki 61) for about 4, 000 young people, the number varies each year depending on the size of the age group. The defense forces receive information about the number of men subject to call-up for that year in January-February of each year and publish the information about the number and the figures for each day in the call-up announcement. The city's responsibility has been assigned to subpoenas purchase of lunch bag servings. It is estimated that there are about 25 employees per day. In 2026, invitations will be held in November-December over 18 days. More detailed information about the dates will be provided to the selected supplier after the competition. City of Helsinki procures approximately 4, 500 lunch bags for invitation events each year. The snack bag must contain a lactose-free whole wheat cheese baguette. 80 of the fin bags must be gluten-free and vegan. Snack bags should be distributed according to the numbers for the invitation day, which are presented annually in February-May in the appendix to the call-up announcement of the Defense Forces called daily figures. Gluten-free and vegan baguettes must be distributed evenly on invitation days. In addition, the snack bag must contain a drink smoothie and nut-free snack bar. The customer is not committed to any purchase quantities. The procurement amount is confirmed annually in accordance with the daily numbers announced in the Defense Forces call-up notice.
