The Finnish Environment Agency (Syke) is bidding for a new LIMS system for its laboratories, which replaces the current solution introduced in 1999 and expands data management to cover a wider range of laboratory operations. The aim is to introduce a uniform, a user-friendly and long-lasting system that supports workflows from sampling planning to analysis, reporting and data transfer to official registers. The system must serve about a hundred users in three offices and cover wide-ranging laboratory operations. The object of the acquisition is ready-made software that will be modified to meet the needs of Syke's laboratory operations. The acquisition aims to improve the efficiency, quality management and predictability of the laboratory's operations and to ensure complete traceability and centralized management of analysis results. The system must offer functional reporting and analysis possibilities, support decision-making, and meet data security and data protection requirements. Moreover, it must be can be modified as laboratory operations develop and provide reliable operation well into the future. The procurement includes delivery of the system, modification to meet Syke's needs, implementation, possible data transfer from the current system and user training. In addition, the acquired entity includes continuous support, maintenance and development services.
