Description
This is a Notice of Proposed Contract Action under FAR Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Products and Commercial Services, and FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This notice is for information only; a solicitation will not be issued. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334413 (Semiconductor and Related Device Manufacturing) with a small business size standard of 1, 250 employees.
The Government requires procurement of a Pulsed Laser System, and intends to negotiate a sole-source award for this requirement with RPMC Lasers, Inc., 8495 Veterans Memorial Pkwy. OFallon, MO 63366, as they represent themselves as the exclusive North American distributor of the required Bright Solutions branded Pulsed Laser System. The applicable Bright Solutions part numbers and associated product descriptions are as follows:
Onda 532nm Plus 10W: High Energy Laser, 532nm, 800uJ, 3ns, 10 to 100 kHz, compact AC-DC PS 24V LP: 110-230 VAC 50/60 Hz 24V DC output CBOX: Microprocessor based control box for testing and driving EXT FREQ RANGE: single shot to 10 kHz OR 10kHz to 200 kHz extended range configuration AIM BEAM: Red Aiming Beam
The Government has determined that other companies- products and services do not meet or cannot be modified to meet the Government-s needs. Bright Solutions is the only known commercial vendor capable of offering a Pulsed Laser System which meets the Government-s following requirements:
- Capable of being powered from user-provided DC power, but comes with external AC-DC power
supply
- Computer control interface available for use via serial (or similar interface) commands
- Capable of single-shot operation triggered by external TTL or similar digital signal
- Pulse energy 750 uJ/pulse @ 532 nm
