Within the scope of the Lisbon High Speed Line project -Porto (LAV), Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) will develop in the short term a contracting initiative for the installation of the European Rail Traffic Management System ERTMS (European Rail Traffic Management System), composed of the European Train Control System ETCS (European Train Control System) Level 2, with simplified side signaling as a fallback system and the Global Mobile Communications System for Railways GSM-R (Global System for Mobile Communications - Railway). The scope of application of this system, the object of this contract, will be the Porto (Campanhã) - Oiã section over a length of 71 km, in order to respond to the materialization of the LAV itself, namely in the object of the first concession (PPP1) in progress. The contracting procedure also provides for the installation of complementary security systems, to the same extent, as well as other telematics systems to support railway operation. At the same time, IP intends to in the same procedure, follow up on Regulation (EU) 2024/1679, of 13 June 2024 and the ERTMS National Implementation Plan (NIP) Portugal 2024 in the various Conventional Line networks. In this context, systems will also be replaced signaling systems installed at the Lamarosa, Pombal and Alfarelos concentration stations, providing the sections of the Northern Line controlled by the aforementioned concentration stations with new signaling systems...
