In connection with the expansion of Sandsund school, a competition for public art is arranged. General presentation: Sandsund is Pedersöre's largest village, approx. 10 km from Pedersöre's center Bennäs and close to the border with the neighboring town of Jakobstad. School and library are located on the outer edge of Sandsund. The school used to be called Kyrkoby school, but a number of years ago the school and library got the same name as the village it is located in. The village has over 2000 inhabitants and the school currently has about 200 students in preschool and grades 1-6. The library is one of Pedersöre's six public libraries.
