Provision Of Professional Services Contract - Delivery Of Medical Boards To The Government Of Jersey - Customer And Local Services Department
Customer and Local Services (CLS) of the Government of Jersey are responsible for the administration and payment of health benefits for people with sickness or disability. Some sickness and disability benefits require the claimant to be assessed through a medical board, consisting of a medical practitioner who has been appointed by the Minister for Social Security. The appointments are to assess the individual and determine the extent of their illness or disability, and how it impacts on their day-to-day life. Assessments are based on factual medical history reports and are not to diagnose an ailment. The two benefits that require a medical board are:
• Long Term Incapacity Allowance (LTIA), and
• Invalidity Benefit (IB) The department is currently seeking an expression of interest from individual doctors or a medical practice who may be interested in undertaking these services under a GOJ standard contract for the provision of professional services on behalf of the department.
