Description: The General Aviation Inspectorate is the component of the operative and training activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs which fulfills, independently or in cooperation, including with other governmental and non-governmental structures in Romania or in the European Union, the following missions: aerial research and surveillance; searching for and rescuing persons in difficulty or whose lives are endangered, on land and on water; air support of the intervention forces within all MIA structures through: disembarkation, parachuting, rapid descent from the helicopter and assurance of actions from the air; airline; extinguishing fires; humanitarian missions and emergency aeromedical transport in cooperation with SMURD.
