Tenders are invited for Provision of Management and Operation Services of Laundry at Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital, New Territories East Cluster, Hospital Authority.
1 All operators in this area are wearing appropriate PPE (e.g. surgical mask, gloves, puncture resistant / proof gloves, cap, disposable apron, etc.). D
2 Used linen is securely fastened and labelled (infected linen or heavily contaminated linen) on arrival. D
3 Sharps box is in place in the used linen loading and sorting area. The box is yellow in colour with a warning logo of biohazard. M
4 All sharps found should be reported to the Laundry management for necessary follow up work. M
5 Warning signs about the presence of used linen have been posted up for reminding staff to follow standard precautions. M
6 Record is maintained for found properties and reported to relevant party for necessary follow up work. M
7 For high temperature washing, the water temperature of main wash shown on the panel meter should be checked, to ensure its compliance with the 65°C / 75°C temperature requirement and recorded at least once daily for each machine. D
8 The water temperature of each washing machine is checked by data loggers weekly for its compliance with the requirements for main wash of 65°C for at least 10 minutes (with chemicals) / 75°C or above for 5 minutes, with record maintained.
For high temperature washing at 65°C, the concentration of chemical disinfectants should be checked, to ensure its compliance with the requirement (i.e. 75-200ppm sodium hypochlorite/ 250-300ppm hydrogen peroxide or equivalent) and recorded at least once daily for each machine W
0 The linen washing programme is in accordance with the guidelines on washing formula. Water used for Pre-wash and Main Wash procedures is not recycled. M
1 The frequently-touched area of the washing machines is decontaminated daily. D
2 No starch powder is used in all washing or rinsing process. M
3 Separate laundering of hospital linen items from clothing / linen of other non-HA clients (only applicable for outsourced laundry). D
4 The temperature measuring device is calibrated regularly, at least once per annum, or in a frequency recommended by the manufacturer. Y
5 The temperature sensor of each washing machine has been calibrated or replaced at least once a year.
Transportation
22 All linen trolleys / carts/ vehicles / pallets that have been used for handling used linen should be decontaminated before use with clean linen. D
Linen trolleys / carts / vehicles / pallets / overhead laundry bags should be cleaned regularly at a frequency set by laundry:
- trolleys (at least monthly) M
