The City of Nimes has started work on the extension of the Voie Urbaine Sud (VUS). This project aims in particular to relieve congestion on Avenue du President Salvador Allende and optimize traffic flows south of Nimes. As part of the application of regulations on infrastructure noise transport, and more particularly the provisions of articles L. 571-9, R. 571-44 and R. 571-48 of the Environmental Code, acoustic protection measures are envisaged on homes and equipment identified in a previous acoustic impact study of the project (See appendix 1). The latter, based on acoustic modeling of the project and on predictable long-term traffic data, made it possible to count: -47 individual houses -1 educational building (school Maternelle Jean Carriere) (excluding this contract) These should have noise levels above the legally admissible acoustic thresholds. These buildings are located on the edge of the project all along the route. To protect these buildings, it would be necessary to carry out acoustic insulation on the facade. This type of protection makes it possible to limit nuisances vis-a-vis all sources of noise and improve the thermal comfort of homes.
