Background

the chief electoral officer of canada (“ceoc”), an agent of parliament, exercises general direction and supervision over the conduct of elections and referendums at the federal level. The ceoc heads the office of the chief electoral officer, commonly known as elections canada.

The it stewardship directorate (its) within the chief information and security officer (ciso) branch of elections canada is comprised of 5 key sub elements that include:
stewardship and governance

enterprise project management office (epmo)

quality assurance

enterprise architecture and engineering

two foundational projects that include integrated data management and application rationalization.

The it stewardship division is the centre of electoral event coordination in the ciso branch.

The epmo within the it stewardship division is responsible for establishing strategies, frameworks, processes and tools to ensure effective stewardship of projects, activities and resources across the agency.

Epmo is expanding its service to the agency to include the procurement and deployment of project management related resources.
