The Florești reservoir was built in the years 1983-1986, on the course of the Răut river, between the Florești and Vărvăreuca localities, located on no. cadastral registers 4501201167 and 4501201167 with a total area of 45.8 ha. Today the lake is dried up as a result of the unclogging works of the bed of the Răut river upstream of it. The state of the hydrotechnical construction is satisfactory. The wet slope in the vicinity of the high water spillway is damaged, which is expressed by the failure of 2 reinforced concrete slabs, corresponding the failure of the clayey soil dam sector and the loss of water retention capacity. The bottom spillway is inoperative.
