This is an INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE NOTICE only.

This is an intent to sole source notice for commercial items prepared in accordance with FAR Subpart 5.2, Synopses of Proposed Contract Actions. This announcement constitutes the only notice of intent to sole source and synopsis of proposed action.

The Department of Veterans Affairs, VHA, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 15 intends to negotiate/award a sole-source contract to Carefusion Solutions, LLC due to the proprietary nature of the equipment. The contract will be a Firm Fixed award. The statutory authority for this noncompetitive acquisition is FAR 13.106- 1(b) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1.

The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 541519, and the FSC/PSC is 7A21. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to solicit and award an Open Market Sole Source Firm Fixed award for Profile Upgrade for Pyxis Medstations for the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans- Hospital at 800 Hospital Drive in Columbia, MO 65201-5275.

Software profile upgrade on five (5) Pyxis Medstations. The Pyxis Medstations and their associated software upgrades are classified as highly specialized equipment crucial for the automation of medication dispensing within the Columbia VA Medical Hospital. These systems are an integral component of a robust medication management framework, designed to optimize safety, accuracy, and efficiency in medication distribution and administration. In addition, this upgrade must be BD/Carefusion brand due to the need to connect to additional Pixus equipment owned by the Columbia VA Hospital.
