Presentation of the NGO and the context: 1.1 Presentation of RCN Justice & Democracy RCN Justice & Democracy (RCN J&D) is a Belgian NGO created in 1994, active in support for justice and conflict prevention. RCN J&D defends the idea that justice is a pillar of living together, a lever for social transformation and that there is a plurality of justice models. To serve society and people, justice must adapt to social, economic and cultural contexts in which it unfolds, it must be accessible to all and establish positive standards and practices guaranteeing freedoms and equality before the law. This vision of justice pushes us to enhance, beyond the judicial response, all the mechanisms capable of resolving conflicts permanently and to meet the needs of reparation of the victims (mediation-conciliation, restorative justice, transitional justice, etc.) .
