l. Background
The Philippines is set to assume the Chairship of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and host the ASEAN Summit and Related Meetings in 2026. This was agreed upon by ASEAN leaders during the 43rd ASEAN Summit in September 2023.
To prepare for this significant role, Administrative Order No. 17 (s. 2024) was issued, constituting the National Organizing Council (NOC) for the Philippine hosting of the ASEAN Summit meetings in 2026. The NOC is tasked with organizing, managing, and supervising all major and ancillary programs, activities, and projects related to the hosting of ASEAN 2026.
