With the introduction of the New Fleet 2032 (NF2032), BLS AG plans to replace the RABe 525 NINA and RABe 535 Loetschberger multiple units in use today. A total of 58 vehicles are affected, whose economic lifespan ends between 2032 and 2036. The existing fleet is expected to go through 36 to 40 new, around 105 meter long, single-story S-Bahn multiple units will be replaced.
