The central engineering database for the Swiss control and fault reporting system (LSS-CH) was developed specifically for the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) in 2008. This included the first database in Europe that was manufacturer-independent and consistent Engineering (service and automation stations) made possible. The database, which is now 17 years old, as well as other applications in the control system are outdated in terms of software and cannot meet new requirements (such as building information modeling (BIM, Cloud) can no longer be done justice.
