In view of reducing operational energy costs, enhancing energy security and resilience, and contributing to the Agency-s climate action and greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction, the SMART Project supports UNRWA-s broader sustainability strategy and donor commitments through the deployment of renewable energy systems, energy efficiency measures, and improved energy management practices across UNRWA installations. As part of the forthcoming implementation phase of photovoltaic (PV) solar systems under SMART, UNRWA plans to roll out PV installations across selected schools and health centers in Jordan which provides services to Palestine refugees in camp at the optimum level.
