I Background
The Taal Volcano Protected Landscape (TVPL) became an initial
component of National Integrated Protected Areas System (NIPAS) by
virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 923 dated November 19, 1996 and
legislated thru Republic Act 11038 or the Expanded National Integrated
Protected Areas System (ENIPAS) Act of 2018. The Protected Area
Management Board (PAMB) for the TVPL was created after the issuance
of Presidential Proclamation No. 923. The said PAMB recognized the need
to further protect, manage and enhance the natural condition and natural
resources of the TVPL, hence, the Resolution No. 19 Series of 2009 entitled
“A Resolution Approving the Taal Volcano Protected Landscape (TVPL)
Management Plan for 2010 — 2020” was approved together with the Unified
Rules and Regulations for Fisheries (URRF).
