The Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) has a requirement to secure an annual maintenance agreement (Carl Zeiss Care Complete Package or equivalent) to provide certified annual calibration, a Software Maintenance Agreement (SMA), and emergency parts repair services. The Fleet Readiness Center requires continued software maintenance and hardware calibration for the ZEISS Prismo Ultra CMM and its associated CALYPSO software. This system is an integral part of the organization's quality assurance environment, providing essential capabilities for precise 3D coordinate measuring. The calibration and maintenance services require proprietary ZEISS software tools to access diagnostic data and make necessary software corrections to the machine's controller. Furthermore, only certified ZEISS technicians receive ongoing factory training, regular technical updates, and direct access to original manufacturer-s parts required to maintain the equipment in optimal condition and ensure it meets factory specifications. Therefore, only the brand-name ZEISS service can meet the Government's requirements without risking mission-critical equipment and incurring significant repair costs. For this reason, the government intends to procure these products on a sole source basis from Carl Zeiss Industrial Quality Solutions, LLC. (CAGE Code: 9DRR4).
