DJ26-163PQ Prequalification for General Contractors for TDSB Accessibility ProgramThe Toronto District School Board (TDSB), through issuance of this Request for Prequalification (RFPQ), invites Respondents to submit prequalification submissions to be considered for several planned accessibility upgrade projects throughout the School Board (“Accessibility Program”).
The Toronto District School Board has over 500 operating schools, many of which are not accessible. To address this, the TDSB has developed a strategic plan to use Ministry of Education funding—along with other sources—to improve accessibility across the system. The initiative focuses on ten bundles involving thirty-eight school facilities, forming a continuous, accessible learning pathway from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12. While full compliance with current Building Code and AODA standards may not be achievable, the TDSB aims to make meaningful improvements for students, staff, and the community. These improvements include accessible parking, exterior pathways, entrances, interior routes, and barrier-free washrooms.
All proponents submitting for pre-qualification will be considered at the sole discretion of TDSB.
