The purpose of the work is to prepare a track plan between Pello and Kolari in accordance with the Railway Act and the instructions of the Finnish Railways Agency. The Pello - Kolari track plan is part of the Tornio - Kolari electrification planning project of the Norwegian Railway Agency. The design site is located in the province of Lapland In the municipal areas of Pello and Kolari, on track section 2203 (Tornio) - Kolari, which is a non-electrified, single-track mixed traffic track. The planning area includes the Sieppijärvi interchange, 23 level crossings, Havela and Palosajo overpasses, 11 railway bridges and 10 an identified soft rock area, as well as a reindeer fence in the area of ​​Pello municipality. The design includes the measures necessary for the electrification of the track section on the line track section between the Pello and Kolar stations, as well as the safety and measures to improve mediation. The assignment plans the space reservations required for the electrification of the track section, the Kolar feeder station, the renewal of the Havela and Palosajo overpasses, base strengthening measures, level crossing safety improvements, and reindeer fences.
