Shoal Lake 40 First Nation is located approximately 160 km east of the City of Winnipeg, near the Manitoba-Ontario border. The community is accessible year-round via Freedom Road.The general scope of work consists of: Construction of a new wastewater treatment building (WWTB) with rock-socketed pipe pile foundation. The building will be a pre-engineered steel building with a building footprint of approximately 16 m x 24 m. Construction of two in situ clay lined submerged attached growth reactor (SAGR) cells south of the proposed WWTB, including supply and installation of pre-cast concrete inlet chamber, and two liquid level control chambers Supply and installation of mechanical and electrical systems inside the WWTB including: Mechanical systems include pumps, piping between treatment components, aeration piping, heating and ventilation systems, chemical feed systems, and bulk alum tank. Electrical systems include motor control centre (MCC) and associated wiring to equipment, exterior genset, and lighting. Process equipment including grinder, microscreens, lamella clarifiers, aeration blowers, and UV disinfection equipment. Construction of a gravel access road to site and within the site, including a 25 m x 30 m gravel truck turnaround, and upgrades to an existing gravel road.
