The Village of Ceylon is seeking qualified contractors for a two-part project involving the physical disconnection of the Prairie Pride Community Centre (PPCC) gym from the former Ceylon School and the construction of a new municipal storage building. The gym and school are currently connected by a “14-ft enclosed, uninsulated walkway”, which will be fully demolished, with exterior walls restored, weatherproofed, and finished with tin siding where required. The school will remain in place and no shared utilities exist between the buildings. The second component is the construction of a 32 ft x 24 ft uninsulated storage building with 8-ft walls, including foundation preparation, tin siding and roofing, one people door, one overhead door, passive ventilation, and a cement walkway connecting the gym to the new structure. Project Timeline: Work begins September 1, 2026, with required completion by November 1, 2027. The timeline accounts for seasonal conditions such as “frost, snow, rain, and limited site access” that may affect progress. Submission Requirements: Bidders must submit a complete Bid Form (Appendix A) by 3:00 PM, Friday, August 7, 2026. Proposals must include proof of $2M liability insurance, a WCB Letter of Good Standing, a site-specific safety plan, a detailed schedule, and all engineering or permitting costs. Questions must be submitted by July 31, 2026. Bids may be rejected if “altered, incomplete, unsigned, conditional, or late.”
