THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE, NOT A REQUEST FOR A QUOTE (RFQ). A RFQ WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND QUOTES WILL NOT BE REQUESTED.
In accordance with FAR 6.103.1, the Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division, China Lake, intends to award a firm fixed price contract on a sole source basis for:
500lbs. Poly(lauryl methacrylate), Custom Mw 200, 000—250, 000 GPC approx. 30% solution in Ethyl Acetate
This requirement is sole-sourced to Scientific Polymer Products, Inc., located at 6265 Dean Parkway, Ontario, NY 14519. Market research has determined that Scientific Polymer Products, Inc. is the sole supplier of this specific polymer-grade material that is currently commercially available. Other manufacturing facilities would require extensive process development and significant lead time to produce this material, resulting to critical project delays. No other chemical formulations or solvent carriers are technically acceptable for this requirement.
THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES; no solicitation or RFQ will be forthcoming. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement no later than 10AM PST 08/07/2026. The written response shall reference solicitation number N6893626RFPREQD550000E5500000337 perform the required work without compromising the quality, accuracy, reliability and schedule.
