INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office (NCO) 6, on behalf of the Durham VA Medical Center intends to enter into a sole source procurement with Carl Zeiss Microscopy LLC, 1 North Broadway, White Plains, NY 10601 for Preventative Maintenance and Inspection on Zeiss Axio Scan Z1. The NAICS code 811210-Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance. The size standard is $34 million. The proposed contract action is to provide preventative maintenance, hardware/software support and repair service on Zeiss Axio Scan Z1 for a Base plus 2 Option years. The only company that can provide this service is Carl Zeiss Microscopy LLC. This procurement is intended to be awarded based on a sole-source requirement.
The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of RFO 6.103-1 (b), using the procedures under RFO 12.102 (a), Restricting Competition. This notice of intent is not a request for quotation. Interested parties may identify their interest in the requirement and capabilities to [email protected] no later than 10:00 AM EST, July 1, 2026.
