The Board is seeking the services of a pre-qualified Architectural Firm to provide architectural and consulting services including Design Development, assistance with Contract Documents & Tender development, and Construction & Contract Administration for the renovations as further specified herein.
The Successful Bidder will be required to design and administer the construction of the following scope.
The Primary Objective is to replace RAAC (Siporex) roof panels.
The Secondary Objective is to improve accessibility within the school.
The Scope is:
Replace RAAC in roof sections A & B with steel deck.Structural enhancements to support new roof deck.Remove and reinstall existing mechanical HVAC systems. Modify existing refrigerant piping to pass through new roof.New 2-ply modified bitumen roofing system.New suspended ceiling system, lighting and communications end devices in RAAC work areas.New full building fire alarm system. Existing fire alarm system must remain operational until new system is fully commissioned.New stage lift.Barrier free exterior and vestibule doors complete with openers.Design drawings to be developed to allow removal of RAAC replacement portion of the project to be removed if required.This will be a multi-phase, multi-year project phased to cause the least impact to building users.New cubbies in kindergarten corridor.Add a split DX unit for the principal and OA office areas. This will only go forward if roof work goes forward.Stage
