1. Purposea) The United Nations is conducting this Request for Information (RFI) to obtain market intelligence on commercially available permanent modular building systems suitable for long-term residential accommodation in Haiti. The information received will help the United Nations better understand available technologies, construction methodologies, delivery models, indicative costs and implementation timelines and will help inform the development of a future competitive procurement process.b) This RFI is not a solicitation, does not constitute a commitment by the United Nations, and will not result in the award of a contract. Respondents are encouraged to provide existing product information, brochures, standard layouts, reference projects and indicative budgetary information rather than project-specific designs.c) For the purpose of this RFI, permanent modular building systems refer to factory-manufactured buildings systems intended for long-term occupancy and designed to provide durability and performance comparable to conventional permanent construction while benefiting from off-site manufacturing and rapid installation.2.
