VIA Rail wishes to install a new flushing system in our maintenance workshop to support our new fleet of Venture trains. Installation and connections will be required throughout the workshop for each of the three tracks and will include associated connection ports for cars to the West and locomotives to the East. A series of ports will be installed to connect portable trolleys (outside the contract) which will allow flushing of toilet tanks cars via fixed reels mounted between the columns of the pit. The existing connection points to the domestic water supply are located under the decks of the East and West tracks, in a confined space. The new systems of piping will be installed parallel to each track over the entire length, under the gratings of the pit walkway. The design objective is to supply, install and test the new system, in accordance with the quote specifications technical support from VIA to ensure compliance for the Siemens fleet, including sustained pressure and flow.
