The real estate department of the Helsinki Parish Association requests your offer for the overall design of the partial renovation of the Munkkiniemi parish hall (church) as a design group led by the main designer (PS, ARK, RAK, LVIA, SAeH, GEO, PIHA, PALO, HISSI, AKUSTIIKA, MAALAeMPOe see project information card HT18)in accordance with the request for tenders and its attachments.

Project information

The target is a parish hall (church) designed by architect Pauli Salomaa, built in 1953 54 and inaugurated on 27 June 1954. A partial renovation was done in 1998 according to architect Kari Hyvaerinen's planfrom her. The building is not protected by the site plan, by the Finnish Museum Agency or by the Church Act, but the Finnish Museum Agency is strongly involved in the project.

Munkkiniemi Church includes the wing building and the church part. In the wing there are three apartments and parish facilities (e.g. office and club facilities). Wing parthas two floors and a basement. The church part has two floors (1 1 basement).

Based on the available starting data and the construction date, the frame system of the building is a brick wall frame, where the load-bearing vertical structures in the outer walls, central frame and stairwells are mainly brickwalls. Based on the initial data, reinforced concrete columns and beams have also been used in the central frame in some places. The intermediate and upper floor structures are massive reinforced concrete slabs.
