The purpose of the Orthorectification Framework is to validate the data NRW holds for the Welsh Government Woodland Estate (WGWE) in Forester Web and other GIS systems. The preferred timing for this work is in advance of the preparation of forest resource plans (10-year forest management plans). There are currently 70 forest areas on the WGWE and orthorectification has been carried out to date on a 10-year rolling programme.
