As part of the ambitious requalification of the old center of Marignane, the City is carrying out a structuring project combining heritage restoration, urban revitalization and cultural enhancement: the creation of the School of Arts. This operation is part of a global rehabilitation program residential buildings, renovation of public buildings and revaluation of historic blocks. Two of them, block I1 and block C1, are specifically dedicated to the installation of the school. Block I1, located on the edge of Place des Oliviers, will accommodate music classrooms and administration. Block C1, adjacent to the apse of the church, will be reserved for large dance rooms, theater rooms, collective music rooms, visual arts spaces, the orchestra room as well as other places of artistic expression. The latter is delimited by the streets Victor Hugo, Courtissade and the Old Fox. It consists of 17 plots of old habitat spread over an area of approximately 24 by 40 meters. The architectural project respects the historical framework of the plot and preserves the block morphology typical of the old center. The most significant facades, notably those of rue Victor Hugo, are preserved or restored identically when their condition justifies it, while maintaining the original openings, the old frames and the vertical rhythms of the bays.
