notice is hereby given that fraser health authority through their collective agent provincial health services authority ("phsa"), intends to directly award a contract to the following supplier to provide service and maintenance on olympus manufactured ureteroscopes for langley memorial hospital for a term of one year at an estimated value of $110, 000.00 (cad).

in accordance with applicable trade agreements, phsa, as agent for the health authority has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reason:
. the goods or services can be supplied only by the selected supplier and no alternative or substitute exists for the following reason:
to maintain specialized products that must be maintained by the manufacturer or its representative.
the maintenance services, equipment support and replacement parts for the ureteroscopes are proprietary to olympus. due to the proprietary nature of the ureteroscopes, only certified olympus technicians are permitted to service the equipment.
vendors who wish to challenge this decision should submit a detailed written objection to the attention of prince varghese, buyer by email to prince.varghese@phsa.ca before 2:00pm pacific time, august 20, 2018. phsa will review any and all issues received by this date and provide due consideration to each objection.
