Tender Details

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) is seeking proposals from qualified Proponents to undertake the Phase 3 of the Olalla Groundwater Protection Plan (GWPP). Olalla relies on a single community groundwater well as its sole source of potable water. Previous phases of the Groundwater Protection Plan included: • Phase 1 (2004): Aquifer characterization and preliminary well capture zone delineation. • Phase 2 (2006): Preliminary contaminant inventory and risk assessment of potential threats to groundwater quality. Phase 2 identified domestic septic systems within the 60-day capture zone as the highest groundwater protection risk and recommended completion of a detailed contaminant inventory, flood risk assessment, groundwater protection area designation, contingency planning, and development of protection measures. The successful proponent will need to complete the Phase 3 and advance the Olalla Groundwater Protection Plan toward implementation. Respondents are encouraged to use innovation to provide a proposal that meets the needs of the Regional District and adds additional value to the project.
