Tender Details

The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to solicit sealed proposals from qualified offerors to establish a contract for the provision of comprehensive occupational health services for the City of Chesapeake. Services will include, but are not limited to, pre-employment, periodic (e.g., annual or bi-annual), and fitness-for-duty examinations for City applicants, employees, interns, and volunteers, as well as alcohol and controlled substance testing required under Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations (49 CFR Parts 40 and 382) and City policy. Testing may include pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, post-accident (fatal and non-fatal), return-to-work, and follow-up screenings for commercial driver-s license (CDL) holders, employees in safety-sensitive positions, and any other positions deemed necessary by the Director of Human Resources or designee. The City also seeks the full services of a certified Medical Review Officer to evaluate test results, coordinate mental health assessments, communicate with individuals as appropriate, and report final findings to the City.The selected contractor(s) will be responsible for fully supervising and directing the work performed under this contract. The City reserves the right to award a single or multiple contracts or make awards in any manner deemed to be in its best interest.
