The Stryker hardware uses a unique screw-head design that is compatible only with the Stryker surgical drills already in use at the RMR VAMC. Competing manufacturers utilize their own proprietary systems, rendering their components incompatible with the equipment currently deployed. Transitioning to another manufacturer would require the facility to replace the existing systems in their entirety, including procurement of new surgical drills, instrumentation, and associated implant system
