NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE

NOAA's Marine Operations Center, Acquisitions Branch, intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Appleton Marine Inc, of Appleton, Wisconsin, for the direct replacement purchase of one (1) luff cylinder inclusive of bushings and counterbalances for the overhaul of their Appleton Marine telescoping boom crane for NOAA Ship Henry B. Bigelow.

The sole source determination is based on the requirement for original equipment manufacturer parts for direct replacement. The replacement luff cylinder for Appleton Marine crane, manufactured by Appleton Marine, is indispensable to fulfilling the Government-s requirements due to its unique design and critical functionality tailored specifically for Appleton Marine cranes.
